July 22, 2018 – The Wall Street Journal discusses the fight to protect kid-run concession stands, specifically mentioning the Freedom Center’s interactive map of shut-downs and quoting Dave.

February 11, 2015 – Missouri Lawyers Weekly announces that St. Louis County caved and will allow our clients to be on the ballot for the special election.

October 28, 2015 – Missouri Lawyers Weekly offers an overview of the arguments before the Missouri Supreme Court in the three cases dealing with Amendment 5, the new Right of Self-Defense amendment adopted by the state’s citizens in 2014.  The Freedom Center filed amicus briefs in each of the cases and argued on behalf of Pierre Clay in one of them.

March 18, 2011 – Dave’s weekly segment on Ramble and Rumble with Rabbi began a series of conversations about the history of the Missouri Constitution by talking about the composition of the General Assembly and about a current proposal to shrink the Missouri House of Representatives from 163 members to 103 members.

March 23, 2011 – This week on Ramble and Rumble with Rabbi Dave addressed the concept of Separation of Powers and again touched on the Missouri Constitution’s expansive protections for expressive freedom.

March 24, 2011 – Dave served as a guest host for The Dr. Gina Show on KJSL 630 AM in St. Louis. He interviewed the Mills family, whose sale of Girl Scout cookies in front of their home recently attracted the ire of the City of Hazelwood, as well as Freedom Center clients Tiffany Lewis and Brooke Gray.

March 30, 2011 – In this week’s segment on Ramble and Rumble with Rabbi, Dave discussed the Girl Scout cookie controversy in Hazelwood in the context of Missouri’s constitutional protections for property rights.

January 5, 2011 – Dave addressed the Consent of the Governed Rally at the State Capitol in Jefferson City, raising awareness about economic liberty.

January 22, 2011 – Dave discussed economic freedom and the threat to animal husbandry at the 22nd annual Equine Celebration hosted by the Missouri Equine Council at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Columbia.

February 9, 2011 – Dave offered testimony before the Missouri Senate’s Transportation Committee on SB58, which would eliminate the current policy that allows established moving companies to veto the license applications of their potential competitors.

February 15, 2011 – The Clinton County Circuit Court in Plattsburg, Mo., heard arguments on a number of preliminary issues in Missouri Veterinary Medical Board v. Gray. The court ruled that Ms. Gray is not entitled to have a jury determine the facts to which the court will apply the law in this case.  The court took under advisement arguments about whether it should restrict the evidence that Ms. Gray can introduce at trial and whether she will be permitted to assert constitutional defenses against the government’s allegations. UPDATE 3/31/11: Judge Chapman overruled the MVMB’s Motion in Limine, determining that it was premature; we are still awaiting a ruling on the MVMB’s Motion for Partial Judgment on the Pleadings.

February 19, 2011 – The Macon County Patriots hosted a four-hour event at which Dave presented a class about the Birth of the U.S. Constitution to a group of almost 30 eager, engaged listeners.

February 24, 2011 – Dave addressed the South St. Louis County Constitution Party on the topic of Economic Liberty. We don’t have video of this event, but the presentation was very similar to this one, which Dave offered when he was with the Show-Me Institute:

March 1, 2011 – Dave debated Phyllis Schlafly of the Eagle Forum regarding the wisdom of calling an Article V convention for the purpose of amending the U.S. Constitution. Dave Roland represented the Freedom Center on the panel, alongside House Majority Floor Leader Tim Jones, Rep. Paul Curtman, Dan Sexton of the John Birch Society, and Kerry Messer of the Missouri Family Network.

March 9, 2011 – Dave Roland offered testimony before the House Professional Registration and Licensing Committee regarding HB 134, which would free African hair braiders from the requirement to obtain a cosmetology license before they are allowed to earn a living in their chosen profession.

March 26, 2011 – Dave Roland spoke to the Missouri Veterans Support Convention in Richland, Missouri, about the work being done by the Freedom Center and how we’re trying to honor the sacrifices that veterans have made to defend our constitutional liberties.

May 10, 2011 – Dave argued Kansas City Premier Apartments v. Missouri Real Estate Commission before the Missouri Supreme Court in Jefferson City.

June 4, 2011 – In response to recent arrests at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC, Dave engaged in civil disobedience, violating 36 C.F.R. s. 2.51 by engaging in “speechmaking” at a federal monument and “public expression of views… which has the effect or propensity to draw a crowd of onlookers.”
